The assassination of Mr. Lim Kimya in a crowded area of central Bangkok is an act of outrage beyond recognition and a sign that Bangkok is no longer safe, especially for political dissidents, refugees and asylum seekers. According to previous UN experts, several political refugees have been kidnapped or forcibly disappeared in Thailand, including Lao pro-democracy activist Od Chaivong, who was abducted in Bangkok on August 26, 2019.
